UK Insurance Company in Online Car Venture

The Royal Bank of Scotland`s insurance arm Direct Line, has entered the online car market with a £15 million promotional campaign to promote its website, reports the UK`s Times newspaper.

Jamjar.com, which has struck up an alliance with the car retailer Dixon Motors, hopes to save customers 25-30 percent on special-offer cars, and around 10 percent on UK and overseas sourced vehicles. The company claims to be able to source all UK and imported new and used cars except hearses, for consumers.

This venture follows Direct Line`s announcement in February of this year that it would spend £50 million over the next four years in building its online car dealership.
