Standox® North America Hosts JACC Career Day
Plymouth, MI -- Standox North America proudly hosted the Autobody I class from the Jackson Area Career Center (JACC) for Career Day at their Plymouth, MI headquarters and training center. For the majority of the JACC students this was there first experience in an automotive refinishing environment.
The JACC students participated in both classroom and application training designed to provide an introductory overview of paint procedures and Standox's European refinishing system. The highlight of the day was the application training, where students applied various products utilizing the state-of-the-art equipment at the training center, including the Standohyd® Waterborne Basecoat, Standocryl® HS single-stage top coat and Standox's exclusive line colors.
"Career day was a great way for Standox to introduce refinishing tools and techniques to the JACC students," states Tim Brenner, Technical Trainer for Standox, who is also a graduate of JACC. "Although these students are just beginning to learn about automotive refinishing, it's important to remember that these are future body shop technicians and support their growth and development."
The Standox training department plans to continue working with the JACC students during 2001 as they work on building and refinishing a race car, as well as remaining active participant in future career days.
