Business Tools | Tuesday January 16 SCRS Announces National Industry Issues ForumThe Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will be inviting executive directors, association officers and collision repair shop owners and managers to join together and discuss the issues pertinent to the operation of collision repair facilities. The event, being billed as the "National Industry Issues Forum" (NIIF), will be hosted by SCRS and moderated by industry leader Chuck Sulkala. The National Industry Issues Forum will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 5, 2001. "SCRS has held similar events in the past with great success, and we are proud to have the opportunity to bring people together for important dialogue," stated Gene Hamilton, SCRS Chairman. "The folks that attend this event have the real issues at heart and are not afraid to discuss them." Chuck Sulkala, a past chairman of SCRS, as well as numerous other industry groups, is well aware of the need for such a gathering. "The industry needs to have a place where the shop owners can get by themselves and discuss their issues. The National Industry Issues Forum presents the opportunity for discussion without interference from outside entities such as insurers and vendors." Attendees will be able to partake in a wide range of activities in addition to the National Industry Issues Forum. First, the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) will be held starting the afternoon of April 5 and continuing on the morning of April 6. Following the CIC will be Collision Concepts. Collision Concepts is the annual trade show and seminar event also being hosted by SCRS. Sulkala further stated, "The week is filled with activities related to collision repairers. A real opportunity for members of the industry to acquaint themselves with the workings of CIC, the National Auto Body Council, the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association, Collision Concepts and all of the various vendors and speakers that will be gathering in Minneapolis. What a great event." SCRS will begin the day with their annual membership meeting followed by the NIIF, and then all of the other activities will follow. Through its direct members and 32 affiliate associations, SCRS is comprised of 8,900 collision repair businesses and 75,200 specialized professionals who work with consumers and insurance companies to repair collision-damaged vehicles. ©2000 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
