Business Tools | Wednesday January 17 Collision Team of America Announces 2001 Expansion PlansIndianapolis -- Collision Team of America (CTA) has announced its growth initiatives for the year 2001 through acquisitions, expansion of existing stores, and new site greenfield development. Ted McClintic, Vice President of Operations, commenting on innovative facility design, said, "The latest CTA model is a combination of optimum product efficiencies and the most important elements we have learned about the customer experience. It is continuing to set the benchmark in this industry." CTA's focus on increased production capacity in existing facilities has led to the implementation of multiple-shift programs. According to McClintic, CTA's multiple-shift prototype in CTA's San Antonio-based Alamo Body & Paint facilities has succeeded in reducung cycle time and extending production capabilities. Establishing multiple shifts at Alamo Body & Paint has afforded us the most efficient processing of a range of light and medium hits, therefore decreasing our cycle time on all cars we repair," said Larry Robinette, CTA's President and CEO. "We feel confident about the growth plans we have developed over the last year and look forward to getting these pilot programs into the majority of our stores in 2001." CTA recently acquired Fit and Finish in Jacksonville, Florida. The facility will operate under the well-known Florida facility name of AutoCrafters Collision Repair. CTA operates six AutoCrafters in Jacksonville and four in Orlando. Collision Team of America currently operates 33 collision repair facilities in Indiana, Illinois, Texas, and Florida, and has the financial backing of Saugatuck Capital Company and Ford Motor Company. ©2000 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
