Business Tools | Monday January 22 General Motors Launches Goodwrench Auto Body Centers ProgramGeneral Motors has introduced its Goodwrench Auto Body Center (GABC) program, a national network of dealer auto body repair centers, into pilot Florida and Texas markets this week. The GABC's goal is to establish a nationally recognized value-added collision repair network to meet the expectations of the customer and the insurance industry, and to become the consumer's first choice for body and paint repair. The insurance industry today is aligning itself with highly efficient, quality suppliers who can not only provide their customers with high caliber repairs, but can also offer better claims and customer management," said Duane Miller, general sales manger, GM dealers. "We believe that to remain competitive in the rapidly consolidating collision repair market, we must support our dealers with an industry leading, nationally branded and marketed body shop program. The Goodwrench Auto Body Center program will provide qualified dealers the tools necessary to offer customers a hassle-free vehicle repair, while supporting the insurance industry's needs for timely, quality repairs and customer care." The Goodwrench program will provide participating dealers with signage and GABC templates for operation and production systems, tools for training personnel, and quality and efficiency support for maintaining strong insurer relations. Consumers are promised a network lifetime limited warranty and a single dealer contact, as well as some as some repair experience "frills" of doubtful value, such as a child play area, customer lounge with magazines, complimentary beverages and snacks, and a reception area. GM Service Parts Operations (SPO) has worked closely with the insurance industry to identify key market requirements, and anticipates rapid national rollout of the Goodwrench program. ©2000 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
