Business Tools | Friday February 2 Bell & Howell Develops Internet-based Electronic Parts Catalog for Ford Franchise DealershipsCLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bell & Howell's Publishing Services unit, the electronic catalog management company for Original Equipment (OE) automotive parts, has announced the development of its Internet EPC (Electronics Parts Catalog) for Ford franchise dealerships. Bell & Howell representatives will demonstrate a prototype of the new product this week at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. "Using the Internet is a natural way for Bell & Howell to deliver up-to-date parts information to potentially thousands of Ford franchise dealers. With the development of our Ford Internet EPC product, Bell & Howell continues its commitment to providing electronic parts catalog solutions to every segment of the franchise dealership market, from single point to multi- franchise stores," said Corey Roberts, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. The new Bell & Howell Internet EPC solution for Ford provides quick and accurate parts look-up navigation. It allows the user to easily search by part number, part name or simply by pointing and clicking on the part illustration. The Ford Internet EPC is powerful alternative solution for Ford franchise dealerships currently using tools like microfiche to access Ford parts information. "Our existing ePAR(TM) EPC systems use CD-ROM and DVD technology to serve medium to large franchise dealerships while our new Internet EPCs are designed for franchise dealerships that have limited parts specification needs. Our singular focus as an organization is to provide products and services that enable franchise dealers to sell more genuine automotive parts," continued Mr. Roberts. ©2000 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
