CARSTAR Acquires Wichita Area Collision Repair Facilities

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- CARSTAR, the nation’s largest collision repair network, has announced the acquisition of three collision repair facilities in Wichita, Kansas. The three facilities, known as CARSTAR Collision Specialists, are currently CARSTAR franchise locations owned by Gary Norris. They will now become company-owned facilities, increasing CARSTAR’s total number of company locations to 15 in the Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska region.

"Gary Norris has done a tremendous job in developing a leading position in the Wichita area," said George Hansen, CARSTAR President and Chief Operating Officer. "Although his Wichita locations experienced impressive growth last year, Gary decided the time was right to focus exclusively on his business interests in Dallas. Our long-range strategic plans call for continued expansion of company owned stores in key markets, and we readily accepted Gary’s offer to acquire his Wichita locations."

The new CARSTAR company-owned facilities are: CARSTAR, Collision Specialists West; CARSTAR, Collision Specialists East; and CARSTAR, Collision Specialists Derby.

"The three Wichita area locations compliment our existing operations in Topeka and Kansas City," Hansen added. "We anticipate additional growth throughout this year, with particular interest in repair centers that deliver outstanding customer care as well as quality and excellence in repair work."

Founded in 1989, the CARSTAR network of collision repair facilities currently includes 15 company-owned locations and 260 franchise locations in North America.
