CCC Information Services Introduces Pathways Wireless Direct

CHICAGO -- CCC Information Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CCC Information Services Group Inc. has announced that Pathways® Wireless Direct, the company's first wireless solution, is now available for the property and casualty insurance marketplace. To meet the industry's challenge of providing solutions for remote users of Pathways® Appraisal Solution, CCC developed a wireless solution created for the claims settlement process to enable increased mobility.

Pathways Wireless Direct, which is optionally integrated into CCC's Pathways Appraisal Solution, allows insurance appraisers to send and receive vehicle assignments, estimates, images, and to process total loss requests and valuations via a remote or mobile computer without an established landline connection.

In a business environment where every minute counts, Pathways Wireless Direct allows updated assignment information to be received in "real time." This aims to allow field staff to be more productive during time spent traveling by enabling them to send and receive assignments via a remote or mobile computer, to help insurance companies handle transactions in a more timely and efficient manner.

"Adoption of wireless technologies by the mobile worker will continue to accelerate in the next few years," said Mary Jo Prigge, President of CCC U.S. "With the introduction of Pathways Wireless Direct, we are now a participant in the wireless market, and are pleased to offer our customers the opportunity to leverage this technology to help increase productivity and enable greater efficiencies."

CCC was pleased with results from its pilot study. Field staff sent estimates, received messages alerting them of new assignments, and processed Total Loss valuations from remote locations via wireless connection. They also reported more efficient use of their "drive time," resulting in decreased claims cycle times.
