CARSTAR Opens New Company-Owned Facility in Hometown Kansas City

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- CARSTAR has announced the opening of CARSTAR Wornall, a new company-owned collision repair facility in Kansas City, MO. The new facility increases CARSTAR’s total number of company-owned locations to 16 in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

"We’re delighted to add another hometown location to our growing network," said George Hansen, CARSTAR Chief Executive Officer. "CARSTAR was founded in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and we’ve enjoyed a very positive relationship with both area consumers and the local insurance community. Our long-range strategic plans call for continued expansion in key markets, and we’re pleased that our newest company facility is just minutes from our national headquarters."

Dan Bailey, CARSTAR Vice President of Operations, said the company’s newest Kansas City location was readied in record time. "All of the arrangements for the new Wornall facility came together in about six weeks," Bailey said. "We hired and trained our entire staff and outfitted the facility, including state-of-the-art computerized management and estimating systems, high speed DSL lines, and a full spectrum of repair shop equipment."

Jeff Baker will serve as General Manager of the 26,000 square foot Wornall location, which features a large play area for children. Besides Baker, the CARSTAR Wornall team features four body technicians, one paint technician, one mechanic, and one detailer.

Founded in 1989, the CARSTAR network of collision repair facilities currently includes 16 company-owned locations and 260 franchise locations in North America. CARSTAR is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas.
