Business Tools | Thursday April 5 Toyota Executive Cites Benefits of ASE-Certified TrainingWilmington, Del., -- A top Toyota executive says that Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) training certified by ASE can reduce training expenses and benefit the entire auto body industry, as well as Toyota customers. John Saia, technical and body training development manager, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., said the training, for which DuPont Performance Coatings recently became certified, provides "a standard and benchmark for in-service technician education that assures a quality learning opportunity." "ASE certification using the CASE process enables training providers like Toyota and DuPont to potentially grant course equivalency for courses containing like content," Saia continued. "This helps to reduce redundancy in courses that are commonly offered in the industry and allows a variety of entities to recognize alternate training. This can reduce duplication, training expenses, and save time. Savings in these areas can result in lower overall costs to everyone, including car owners." Also, Saia said, by working in conjunction with ASE's new Career File, the CASE program will provide a central database that enables training providers, employers, and technicians to manage training history, education, and training transcripts. DuPont Performance Coatings Instructor-led programs underwent intense review by ASE as part of the CASE evaluation process. Said Steffen Apollo, DPC national training manager: "The CASE review required us to closely examine our training program development process for our DuPont Automotive Finishes, Spies Hecker, and Standox brands. This ASE certification recognizes DPC's commitment to quality technician training. Our customers can be confident that the DPC CASE activities they attend represent the very best in training." ©2000 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
