Business Tools | Thursday April 5 TABPA Applauds CAPA RestructureTaipei, Taiwan R.O.C. -- CAPA=s recent announcements of Board and Technical Committee restructure are welcome news to the Taiwan Auto Body Parts Association (TABPA). "The early years of development and implementation of the certification program have been challenging, but beneficial to the industry," said Parkson Jong, Chairman of TABPA. He added, "The collision repair and manufacturing industries have changed dramatically over the past five years. The recent changes on CAPA=s Board and Technical Committee (TC) move the organization and the manufacturer participants into the next level. The door for meaningful communication between part manufacturers and collision repairer end users is open wider than ever before." In response to the positive changes in CAPA, in October, 2000, on behalf of TABPA, Chairman Jong extended an invitation to the entire Technical Committee to meet in Taiwan. In a letter to CAPA Chairman, General Henry Viccellio, Jong wrote, "We take restructuring CAPA's very seriously and have given some consideration as to how we might be able to foster clear understanding and good working relationships." An invitation to the TC and suggested itinerary, as well as an offer to host the delegation and cover ground transportation and some expenses, followed. After careful consideration, Viccellio responded on behalf of CAPA's Board, that a trip of the entire TC would not be feasible, but that a delegation would be organized for a March trip, to be hosted by TABPA. The delegation of five consists of four new TC members, three of whom are collision repairers, one veteran and includes the newly elected Chairman and Vice Chairman of CAPA's Technical Committee. ©2000 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
