CARSTAR Selects AutoVista To Develop Key Components of Information Management System

Overland Park, KS -- CARSTAR has signed an agreement with ComputerLogic's AutoVista Division to develop software and communications components for CARSTAR's information management strategy.

"As we continue to expand our network, we will develop new tools and systems to ensure that we deliver superior collision repair and outstanding service to every customer, including individual consumers and insurance carriers," said George Hansen, CARSTAR Chief Executive Officer. "One key component for our sustained growth is an integrated information management system that allows for future expansion and development. We're excited to work with AutoVista, because of their expertise in the development and implementation of strategic IT solutions that truly impact service, quality and profitability."

Under the terms of the agreement, AutoVista will create an integrated, expandable system for use by CARSTAR's company and franchise facilities, as well as its insurance industry partners and consumers. When fully implemented, the new CARSTAR information management system will streamline and standardize claims and repair handling processes from first notice of loss through invoicing and payments. To create the new CARSTAR system, AutoVista will customize existing end-to-end claims flow and repair handling tool sets.

According to Hansen, CARSTAR selected AutoVista following an extensive search and evaluation process. "Computer Logic has developed and delivered computerized information services to our industry for over 22 years," said Hansen. "During the past few years, AutoVista has developed powerful and flexible software architecture and customizable tool sets to track and manage claims and repair handling processes. They've also accomplished large scale, end-to-end implementations of their architecture and tool sets."

Rick Palmer, ComputerLogic's president and founder said, "We are excited to be associated with CARSTAR. Their rapidly expanding network and sound technology strategy are a perfect match for our ability to customize and support the software and communications processes for use throughout the CARSTAR network. Both of our companies are committed to making the claims and repair handling processes as efficient and cost effective as possible for customers, insurance companies and other trading partners."

With almost 300 locations across the United States and Canada, the CARSTAR family of franchise and company facilities generates annual revenue in excess of $350 million. Since it was founded in 1989, CARSTAR has performed more than 1.5 million repairs with an average customer satisfaction rating of 95 percent or better. The company's repair work and service are backed by a nationwide warranty. CARSTAR is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas.
