DuPont Automotive Finishes Receives Fourth Southeast Toyota Award

WILMINGTON, Del. -- For the fourth time in the past five years, DuPont Automotive Finishes and its distributor, FinishMaster, have received an "Award of Excellence" from Southeast Toyota.

DuPont was recognized for its work with the Southeast Toyota Port Processing Facilities in Jacksonville, Fla. and Commerce, Ga. Thousands of vehicles pass through the ports annually, receiving upgrades that include two-tone paint, painting of accessories to match OEM colors, leather seating, and custom wheels and tires.

The award is based on quality of product, warranty rate, commitment to lead time, response time to problems, and level of total quality management. Out of more than 150 suppliers, only 10 were honored at the annual banquet, held in Coral Springs, Fla. on May 18.

The award was accepted by Al Salas, DuPont district sales manager; Joe Grillo, DuPont color quality coordinator; Charles Lewis, FinishMaster regional sales manager, and Billy Edenfield, Finishmaster sales representative.

"This award reflects the partnership DuPont and FinishMaster have with Southeast Toyota," said Salas. "It's a partnership that's been beneficial to all three parties. Toyota has a reputation for quality, and by demanding that suppliers achieve that quality, they make those suppliers better."
