Farmers Appoints Kevin Kelso Vice President of State Operations

LOS ANGELES -- Kevin Kelso has been named vice president of state operations at Farmers Insurance Group.

In this position, he will oversee the Farmers' state executives in 11 states. Kelso joined Farmers in 1999 as vice president of personal lines research & development. He most recently served as vice president of personal lines auto product management since January 2000.

"Farmers is dedicated to becoming a more flexible organization as we continue to evolve in a rapidly changing marketplace," said Martin D. Feinstein, Farmers' chairman of the board and chief executive officer. "To achieve greater agility as a company, will require good people and a willingness to embrace change. Kevin embodies the qualities that will move Farmers forward."

As vice president of personal lines auto product management, Kelso was responsible for pricing, underwriting, and marketing strategy for Farmers' personal auto. During this time he led the implementation of several risk-based pricing initiatives. Prior to joining Farmers, Kelso worked for Zurich Personal Insurance and Great American Insurance.

"Farmers has a rich history of which I am proud to be a part," said Kelso. "Our agents are writing a new chapter in that history as they add investment products to their portfolio of services. In my new responsibility as vice president of state operations, I look forward to the opportunity to work more closely with the Farmers agency force."

Farmers Insurance Group includes the nation's third-largest home and auto insurers. With headquarters in Los Angeles and doing business in 41 states, the Farmers group of companies provides home, auto, business, life insurance and financial services to more than 10 million households through 17,000 exclusive and independent agents and district managers.
