Business Tools | Monday August 6 Scene Genesis Speeds Up Transmission Time in Sending Claim Estimates and PhotosROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Scene Genesis, Inc., a claims/Inspection information exchange and management system for the Property and Casualty industry, has incorporated JPG2000 Technology into its SceneAccess.net Services. "Speed of transmission and quality of the image has always been a concern of the industry for the adoption of digital photography," said Robert Blake, CTO of Scene Genesis. "With this addition of JPG2000, SceneAccess.Net will be able to provide greater speed of transmission with no lost of quality. The claim/inspection photos will be converted before transmission and save anywhere from 20 to 50 percent of transmission time for a claim/inspection folder versus transmission of JPG images." Overall, the benefit to the industry both carriers and adjusters alike is faster transmission of claims photos with the ability to request higher resolution images with no worry about overwhelming transmission times. On the back end, faster retrieval of pictures is possible with flexible formats available in JPG2000 imaging. Version 2.5 of the SceneAccess.net Client includes the integration of the JPG2000 technology. System administrators can now choose to use this feature for their application. With SceneAccess.net's system of distributing version updates every user will receive this feature on their next sign-in to the system. Scene Genesis® Inc. offers a digital photo documentation management system through an Application Service Provider (ASP) model, deploying an end-to-end automated claim and inspection management system for Internet-based assignment, dispatch, communication, and reporting between insurance companies and service providers.
