Caliber Collision Centers Acquires Beardsley's Auto Body & Paint in San Diego

IRVINE, Calif. -- Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine-based operator of collision repair facilities in California and Texas, has acquired Beardsley's Auto Body & Paint, a collision repair service provider in Downtown San Diego.

The addition of Beardsley's Auto Body & Paint further extends Caliber's position as the largest collision repair provider in San Diego County with 12 centers in operation. It also extends Caliber's position as the largest independently operated collision repair organization in the United States, with 61 centers in California and Texas.

According to Caliber's vice president of California operations, Tom Coleman, Beardsley's Auto Body & Paint is a valuable addition to the rapidly growing Caliber family. "This acquisition further increases Caliber's presence in the San Diego area," said Coleman. "Beardsley's is an excellent addition to our other centers with strong dedicated employees and a large facility well-suited for rapid growth.

"This facility includes over 25,000 square feet of capacity, which will ensure that Caliber's clients and consumers will be well-served for years to come in this growing area."

Gary Beardsley, former owner of Beardsley's Auto Body & Paint, sold his company to Caliber because of Caliber's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. "I'm very confident that Caliber will maintain our tradition of superior quality and customer service," stated Beardsley. "My former employees are excited about joining such a fast-growing, industry-leading company."

Caliber entered the San Diego Market in August of 1999. With the addition of Beardsley's Auto Body & Paint, and the recent opening of a newly designed center in El Cajon, Caliber now operates 12 centers in the San Diego County marketplace with an additional center under construction in La Mesa.

Caliber currently owns and operates 61 facilities and plans to continue acquiring, developing and integrating high-volume collision repair centers while providing innovative collision repair solutions and automobile physical damage claims support.
