CCC Information Services Names Ed Stevens to New Chief Operating Officer Position

CHICAGO -- CCC Information Services Inc. has named Ed Stevens, a respected veteran in the automobile claims industry, to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

"As our company continues to grow to meet our industry's demands, the addition of a chief operating officer is a natural extension of our senior management team," said Githesh Ramamurthy, president and chief executive officer. "With Ed, we not only have the right team - we have the best team - in place to continue the recent progress made by our senior leadership."

At the company, Stevens will focus on fine-tuning the company's operating processes. Stevens will work with all aspects of the company to maximize operational efficiency, product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Stevens joins CCC having spent nearly seven years at American Financial Group, most recently as president and chief executive officer of its Atlanta Casualty and Windsor Insurance divisions. He also has served in executive-level positions at Progressive Corp.

"Ed's reputation and expertise in our industry, combined with his talents in growing large public companies, will serve us well as we set the stage for our own continued growth and expansion," Ramamurthy continued. "His operational leadership will also allow me to focus more fully on CCC's long-term strategic initiatives."

"CCC is among the hottest companies in the auto claims business today," said Stevens. "Githesh and his team have worked hard to make CCC the fundamentally sound company that it is today. I am extremely excited to be joining a company of this caliber and am energized by the many exciting opportunities ahead."

Stevens joined American Financial Group in 1994 and two years later became CEO of Atlanta Casualty and Windsor Insurance. At American Financial Group, Stevens executed a reengineering program that improved service levels across its business units. He also created and launched new technologies to streamline information flow and improve customer satisfaction and competitive differentiation.

Previously, Stevens was a vice president of finance and business development in the international foods division of Pepsico Inc.

From 1986 to 1992, Stevens served as president of the North Atlantic division of Progressive Corp., the nation's fourth largest auto insurer, where he helped lead the expansion of the company's core insurance business. In the early 1990s, Stevens helped Progressive set a new standard for customer service by introducing products and claims-services procedures previously unavailable in the industry.

Prior to joining Progressive, Stevens was a general manager for GE Information Services.
