CARSTAR Acquires Burnett Auto Body in Ottawa, KS

Overland Park, KS -- CARSTAR, the nation's largest collision repair organization, has acquired its 17th company-owned collision repair facility located in Ottawa, KS. The acquisition of CARSTAR, Burnett, formerly known as Burnett Auto Body, the largest collision repair facility in its county, represents the sixth company-owned store to join the CARSTAR network this year.

"The Ottawa store has been in business for 18 years, and we are very pleased to add this facility to our growing group of company and franchise locations," said George Hansen, CARSTAR Chief Executive Officer. "Company store acquisitions coupled with strong franchise growth have expanded the CARSTAR network substantially in 2001. As our network grows, our existing stores continue to perform well with notable comparable annual sales growth of over twenty percent."

Jeff Baker is General Manager for CARSTAR, Burnett. He has 22 years of industry experience and is extremely familiar with the Ottawa community, residing there since 1981. Prior to joining CARSTAR in 2000, Baker held a management position at Hendrick Automotive Group.

With over 300 locations across North America, the CARSTAR managed repair network generates annual repair revenue in excess of $300 million. Since its formation in 1989, CARSTAR has performed over 1.5 million repairs with an average customer satisfaction rating of 95 percent or better. Their repair work and service are backed by the only nationwide warranty in the industry. CARSTAR is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas.
