AutoTrader.com and Experian Automotive Partner to Provide History Reports for a Million Used Vehicles

NEW ORLEANS -- AutoTrader.com and Experian Automotive have announced that AutoCheck(SM) from Experian Automotive will be the sole provider of vehicle history information for the more than six million monthly consumers who visit, search and request detailed information on the millions of used vehicles advertised on AutoTrader.com.

The exclusive agreement connects AutoCheck, the vehicle title history reporting system, with vehicles listed on the online automotive classified marketplace, AutoTrader.com, currently getting more than six million visitors per month, connecting consumers with about 40,000 dealerships nationwide and showcasing 1.7 million vehicles for sale. In 2001, AutoTrader.com was rated the top site in the United States by J.D. Power and Associates for buyers of used vehicles.

"Part of our ongoing business strategy and commitment to consumers and dealers for 2002 is to be the most complete and informative car buying resource available," said Chip Perry, president and CEO, AutoTrader.com . "By adding tools such as AutoCheck to our array of services, AutoTrader.com continues to provide consumers with the most comprehensive, reliable and accurate resources to help facilitate the used vehicle shopping process."

Said Ken Kauppila, executive vice president, Experian Automotive, "We are energized and ready to assist AutoTrader.com in building consumer and dealer confidence through improved vehicle history reports."

Experian's AutoCheck vehicle history report will give AutoTrader.com dealers and customers instant Internet access to a used car or light truck's history at www.autocheck.com , which provides information on vehicle specifications, odometer problems, major damage, state title brands, accident data, and potential fraud.

AutoTrader.com was created in 1997 and is a majority-owned subsidiary of Manheim Auctions, Inc., the world's largest operator of wholesale auto auctions since 1945.
