APD to Join the Fix Auto Network

ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif. -- Autobody Profit Development Inc. (APD), a Northern California collision center management company owned by seven independent collision repair operators, has signed a letter of intent to join the Fix Auto Network.

Established in 1997, APD Inc. operates nine collision centers with annual gross sales of more than $24 million. Providing the independent shop owner an alternative to consolidation, APD is a separate corporation entirely owned by the member shop owners. APD offers members bookkeeping and accounting services, management system training and discounted parts purchases through the Parts Line Program.

With the addition of APD, Fix Auto will support more than 100 member-owned stores, up from 36 stores a year ago, and have stores in 15 of the country's top 50 metropolitan markets. Fix Auto's network revenues this year are expected to exceed $250 million, almost two-and-a-half times 2001's network sales of $110 million.

"The addition of APD is completely consistent with our stated strategy of growing the nation's largest network of best-in-class, independently owned and operated collision repair facilities and strengthens the Fix network in one of the country's key metropolitan markets," said Doug Kelly, president of Fix.

Ric Donofrio, APD CEO, said, "FIX will be providing many programs that otherwise would be financially impossible for an organization the size of APD," he said. "I'm particularly pleased with the call center, desk audits and real time CSI reporting. I believe that what FIX has to offer is in line with the concept that drove the formation of APD. Now perhaps we can take that concept to the next level." APD's existing northern California locations include Cal West Automotive/APD located in Sunnyvale, Cavallino Collision Center/APD in Palo Alto, Diablo Auto Body/APD in Pleasanton, El Camino Body Shop/APD in Santa Clara, Oakland Auto Body/APD in Oakland, Springer Body and Paint/APD in San Jose and F. LoFrano and Sons/APD's three San Francisco locations.
