Business Tools | Monday February 11 BASF to Bypass NACE 2002SOUTHFIELD, MI -- The BASF Automotive Refinish Regional Business Unit has announced that it will not participate as an exhibitor in the 2002 International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE). "We recognize the value of exhibiting at NACE, but the market situation in 2002 is unusual in many ways," observed Guy Bargnes, Director of Marketing for BASF Automotive Refinish. "BASF is a long-time participant in the show, and this decision was a particularly difficult one for us. However, changing industry needs for interacting with customers compelled us to reconsider our participation in this year's NACE show. Our decision was made at the highest level and is based, among other things, on the input of BASF's sales force," continued Bargnes. "Although we won't be at NACE this year, we are committed to our strategy of providing greater value to our customers through product innovation, training programs, our eCommerce offerings and other initiatives." "Of course, it's impossible to predict future market and business conditions," said Bargnes, "and a decision concerning our participation in NACE 2003 will be made at the appropriate time. It is important to emphasize, however, that BASF's support for ASA remains strong, as does our proven commitment to building the strength and professionalism of the collision repair industry." ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
