Business Tools | Tuesday February 19 Bell & Howell Publishing Services and DaimlerChrysler Renew Parts Data AgreementCLEVELAND -- Bell & Howell Publishing Services, a subsidiary of ProQuest Company, has signed a five-year data access agreement with DaimlerChrysler. The agreement renews an existing contract between the two companies, enabling Bell & Howell Publishing Services to continue providing Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships worldwide with its range of innovative electronic parts catalog systems. Electronic parts catalog (EPC) systems are used by parts technicians at dealerships to quickly, easily and accurately identify needed replacement parts. Bell & Howell EPCs contain vital parts information and diagrams for a manufacturer's entire line of vehicles as far back as 25 years. The information is stored on CDs and DVDs, or accessed via the Internet. "This contract renewal demonstrates DaimlerChrysler's confidence in our ability to continue providing information-based products and services that deliver tangible, bottom-line results to Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealers' fixed operations," said Lee Poseidon, senior vice president and general manager of Bell & Howell Publishing Services' Global Automotive unit. "We look forward to continuing to build on our strong relationship with DaimlerChrysler." Bell & Howell Publishing Services developed the first EPC for Chrysler dealerships nearly 15 years ago and currently markets the product under the name PAIS to the 4,300 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships in the U.S. Bell & Howell Publishing Services also markets an international version of the PAIS EPC to Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships in 80 countries containing information translated into six different languages. The Bell & Howell PAIS EPC is an accurate, fast and effective parts information and selling solution for single franchise and multi-franchise Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships. With its advanced parts filtering capabilities, it provides the exact parts information dealers need to repair and service their customers' vehicles. Bell & Howell EPCs are available for 28 franchises, including Mercedes-Benz, which has been available worldwide since 1990. The complete line of Bell & Howell EPCs is also distributed by Reynolds and Reynolds throughout North America. ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
