SCA Introduces EMSREVIEW Desk Audit Software

SCA Appraisal Company, a division of SCA Enterprises, Inc., has announced the completion and implementation of its advanced desk review software, EMSREVIEW HOME OFFICE and EMSREVIEW FIELD. Developed by DSS, the EMSREVIEW product line is a stand-alone desk audit software exclusively utilized by SCA. SCA will begin immediate implementation of the software for both east and west coast operations and all 90 plus inside and outside appraisers. "EMSREVIEW will change the way our insurance clients measure performance and productivity," said SCA president and owner, Tim Davis.

EMSREVIEW is a database of claims indices and an advanced statistical engine that aims to reduce clients' loss adjusting expense and severity, at the same time decreasing cycle time. The system electronically pre-audits estimates to identify those that deviate from the norm prior to manually reviewing photographs and sheets. It also checks incoming estimates for rate compliance, maximum labor rules, parts rules, the mix of OEM and alternative parts used, as well as betterment and other key areas of an estimate. EMSREVIEW utilizes advanced statistical algorithms to review the content of estimates and predict those that will deviate from the norm.

EMSREVIEW works with all estimating systems and supports auditing in a mixed estimating system environment. It pre-audits estimates as they arrive from repair facilities. It can be used to review the estimate electronically before it is paid or before the job is started, giving the adjuster the opportunity to react to a situation before it becomes a costly problem. Unlike other systems that pass a paid claim against a set of rules and pre-set parameters for compliance, EMSREVIEW uses a database of historical claims and advanced mathematical methods to evaluate the repair content of an estimate. The software compares an estimate against approved and paid estimates. System developers claim that not only will it catch those estimates that have items outside user parameters, but it will also identify those estimates with items that are not necessary for the repair.

EMSREVIEW FIELD, used with field appraiser's email, imports the estimate for review and then exports the same estimate from the electronic estimating system and emails it with photographs of the vehicle.
