Business Tools | Tuesday April 9 DuPont Marks 200th Anniversary With DuPont Community Fund AwardsAs a part of its 200th anniversary celebration, DuPont has announced the 2002 DuPont Community Fund program awards. Ninety projects from 47 DuPont sites around the world were awarded about $500,000 in this year's program, the largest single amount in the 12 years of the program's existence. "Our 200th anniversary presents the perfect opportunity to reaffirm the importance of our site communities worldwide and to thank the members of those communities for their support throughout our long history," said Chairman and CEO Charles O. Holliday, Jr. "The DuPont Community Fund is an excellent way for DuPont sites all over the world to celebrate the anniversary with their communities." This year's grant recipients range from a computer reading project in Texas, to an endangered species conservation program in Colombia, to a housing initiative for the poor in the Philippines. The DuPont Community Fund was established to improve the quality of life and enhance the vitality of communities in which DuPont operates. Since 1990 this grassroots program, designed and implemented at DuPont sites, has provided over $3,000,000 to programs and organizations that address one or more of three key components of community sustainability -- social progress, economic success and environmental excellence. ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
