MVRA Announces Restructuring of Business

Following a recent challenge relating to the UK's MVRA¹s (Motor Vehicle Repairers Association) use of the term "association", Mike Monaghan, Managing Director of MVRA, said, "Regardless of its precise trading name, MVRA will continue to serve and represent its members in the way that it always has done. Nothing has changed, or could ever change, that."

The company will continue to trade as MVRA Ltd, which has been the registered name of the organization since its formation.

Monaghan added, "The challenge appeared to be the result of a small minority of industry commentators being suspicious of our commercial status, but, to us and to our members, this is not, and never, has been a problem. The most important thing is, that our members are happy with the service that we are giving and the continuing growth in membership can only mean that they are."

During the past year MVRA management has been looking at ways to more clearly present MVRA¹s unique role in - and significance to the entire UK motor industry. This process is now complete and the new divisions are Membership, Managed Repair Programmes, Managed Compliance Systems, Network Services and Inspections and Standards.

According to a press release, the revised divisional structure merely formalizes the work that MVRA has been doing for the past few years and it is hoped that this new approach to MVRA¹s various business activities will clarify the market position occupied by MVRA. These divisions will be concentrating on delivering value-for-money to members and industry clients. Over the next few months management will be launching new initiatives in each division.

Mike Monaghan concluded, "This challenge has enabled us to both redefine and refine MVRA¹s status and role to its members and to the wider industry and from that point of view, it was a welcome catalyst. It has given us the opportunity to look at all that MVRA does - and then to focus in on the key areas. The next few months will be challenging and busy but most of all they will be exciting, as we seek to maximize the opportunities we have to serve UK motor vehicle repairers."
