Business Tools | Friday May 3 Wawanesa Insurance Expands Use of Mitchell's UltraMate, with French Language Enhancements, into QuebecMitchell International, an information software and e-business solutions provider for the insurance and collision repair industries, and Wawanesa Insurance, one of Canada's largest property and casualty insurers, have announced that Mitchell's collision repair estimating system will be used in Wawanesa's Quebec operations. Wawanesa will use Mitchell's UltraMate Version 4.7, which includes French language enhancements. The insurer now uses Mitchell's UltraMate exclusively across Canada and in its United States operations in California and Oregon. "We are longtime Mitchell users, going back to the book days," said Bob LaPage, Wawanesa's vice president of claims, referring to Mitchell's early years, before software and e-business solutions were added to its product suite. "We are very satisfied with UltraMate, so it made sense to extend its use into Quebec, especially with its expanded French description of available parts." Marc Brungger, Mitchell's vice president of Global Operations, said Mitchell was very pleased to have Wawanesa join two other major Canadian insurers - Royal & SunAlliance and Allianz - in using UltraMate with its French language enhancements for their entire Canadian operation. "French-speaking insurers and body shops have responded very positively to the enhancements we made to meet their specific needs," he said. Owned by its policyholders, Wawanesa has a rich history dating back to September 25, 1896, when it was founded in the Village of Wawanesa, Manitoba. Today its executive offices are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Over 1,300 independent insurance brokers distribute its Canadian insurance products, except in Quebec where products are distributed through company agents. Wawanesa also operates in California and Oregon in the United States. ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
