Business Tools | Thursday May 9 PPG Canada Partners with Mohawk Community CollegeThe Automotive Refinish Group of PPG Canada, Inc. has announced a partnership with Mohawk Community College, Motive Power Division, in Stoney Creek, Ontario. PPG has provided the auto body facility of the college with the latest high-tech equipment, paint systems and supplies to provide students the tools they need to learn their craft in a real-world environment. PPG has donated a complete inventory of their Global Refinish System products, their top-of-the-line product system. They have also provided a state-of-the-art computerized paint mixing system, the PPG Touch-Mix system and the PPG Access Color formula retrieval system, which provides color formula retrieval, paint formulations by the ounce, job costing, inventory control, product bulletins, material safety data sheets and more. "PPG is proud to help support the Mohawk College Auto Body program in an attempt to further the expertise of technicians in the collision center field and attract top quality entry level candidates to this industry," said Celyne Benitah, marketing manager for PPG Canada, Inc. "With constant changes in technology and the introduction of more and more sophisticated equipment and application techniques, training in the automotive refinish industry is more essential than ever. Mohawk Community College provides vocational training for electricians, plumbers, hydraulics engineers, carpenters, millwrights and numerous other occupations. Graduates are licensed through the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.
