Caliber Expands into Central California with Acquisition of Dick's Body Shop in Fresno

Caliber Collision Centers has acquired Dick's Body Shop, the premiere collision repair provider in Fresno, California. The addition of Dick's Body Shop extends Caliber's position as the largest collision repair provider in California with 36 centers in operation, and expands Caliber's position as the largest independently operated collision repair organization in the U.S.

According to Matthew Ohrnstein, Chairman of the Board and CEO for Caliber, the acquisition of Dick's Body Shop enables Caliber to immediately begin providing collision repair and claims support services to its insurance clients and consumers throughout Fresno County.

"Caliber's expansion into the San Joaquin Valley is a direct response to the needs of our insurance partners and their insureds," said Ohrnstein. "As one of Caliber's largest facilities, this center has state-of-the-art equipment, 60,000 square feet of capacity and a most importantly, a talented, committed team of collision repair professionals. We view this acquisition as a platform on which to initiate our expansion into Central and Northern California."

"Caliber is a first-class operation and I take great comfort in knowing I am selling to an organization that will maintain our 21 year tradition of superior quality and customer service, as well as provide our employees with comprehensive benefits, training and expanded career growth opportunities," stated Richard Kellejian, former owner of Dick's Body Shop. "My former employees are excited about joining such a fast-growing, industry-leading company." Before retiring, Kellejian will work with Caliber to assist in the transition of the business.

Founded in 1991, with headquarters in Irvine, Caliber Collision Centers owns and operates 64 facilities.
