J.N. Phillips Auto Glass Teams up with Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety

J.N. Phillips Auto Glass will give a portion of its earnings from every windshield replacement to Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, an organization that helps to set safer auto design standards and highway safety laws.

Since its founding in 1946, J.N. Phillips Auto Glass has made safety a priority in an industry that lacks government regulation, and now is stepping up to play a stronger role in saving lives and preventing injuries.

"Most people don't realize that auto glass is crucial to a car's safety performance during an accident," said J.N. Phillips President Bob Rosenfield. "By supporting an organization that acts to make our roads safer, we hope customers will see a stronger link between auto glass and auto safety," he said.

Aside from influencing safer auto design and testing standards, Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety will use the funds to involve itself in the multi-billion dollar highway bill. "This legislation will strengthen seat belt and drunk driving laws, toughen licensing requirements for teen drivers and increase safety rules for big trucks - setting the direction for highway safety for years to come," said Advocates President Judith Lee Stone.

Stone estimates that laws and policies pursued by her organization since 1989 have saved many thousands of lives. "But there's much work left to do, and with the continued support of companies like J.N. Phillips, we will be an even stronger voice for highway and auto safety in the halls of Congress and state legislatures," she said.

J.N. Phillips Auto Glass operates 40 stores and 110 mobile service vans across southern New England.

Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety is an alliance of consumer, health and safety groups and insurance companies and agents working to make America's roads safer.
