Business Tools | Wednesday July 17 Allstate Recognized by Data Warehousing Institute for Best PracticesAllstate Financial, a business unit of The Allstate Corporation, has received the 2002 Best Practices in Data Warehousing Award, presented by The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI). The award recognizes Allstate Financial for the deployment of its data warehouse in the integrated data analysis category. The Data Warehouse Institute Award recognizes the industry-leading methodology used to develop the data warehouse, the complexity of the business problem addressed, the hardware and software tools selected, as well as the speed of development. The Allstate Financial data warehouse project was begun in mid 2000 and represents a significant effort to consolidate data from the existing legacy administrative systems into a decision support environment. The Allstate Financial data warehouse has used the data, computing system and software tools to support a number of projects including retention and compliance programs as well as a number of marketing and sales initiatives. "We continue to actively seek opportunities to externally benchmark our warehouse with other best-in-class warehouses," said John Hershberger, assistant vice president, Allstate Financial database marketing. "The information we extract from this warehouse coupled with advanced analytic tools and skilled analysts will allow us to simplify business processes, reduce expenses and better meet the needs of our customers." ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
