Business Tools | Friday August 2 DuPont Jobber City Paints to Use AutoNetworks for Shop Communication NetworkAutoNetworks and City Paints, Inc., a San Francisco-based DuPont Jobber, have announced an agreement to provide collision repair facilities serviced by City Paints with AutoNetworks Broadband Internet Connectivity and Electronic Media Services. "As a leading DuPont Jobber, City Paints has always provided the highest level of service and products to its collision shop customer base. AutoNetworks is pleased to have been chosen by City Paints to provide its customers with our communication and connectivity solution that will connect the shops not only to City Paints, but to the Industry as a whole," said Jim Wilde, National Sales Manager for AutoNetworks. Mr. Wilde added, "This agreement represents an important milestone to roll-out a nationwide 'jobber program' that will connect the jobber to all levels of the industry in order for more effective communication and data delivery. The primary goal of this program is simple - allow the jobber to get information to the shop in a more efficient manner, so that the shop can be more productive. City Paints and jobbers in general have an incredible need to improve communication with their shops as well as acquire training and industry specific content. We look forward to being a part of City Paints' solution." Under the terms of the agreement, City Paints will market AutoNetworks' high speed satellite service to its Bay area customers, as well as deliver content and training over the network to their diverse shop base. "AutoNetworks is the only system we have seen that combines the everywhere availability of satellite with reliable high speed Internet at a very affordable cost to the shop. Our need in this new world of high tech is to better communicate with our shops in order to provide them with the information, training and updates they need to be successful, said City Paints founder and CEO Jay Gospodnetich. "As a DuPont Jobber, my role has been changing over the years with responsibility being more and more to assist the shop, almost as a consultant, in becoming as productive and efficient as possible. To do this, today's Jobber needs communication tools. The AutoNetworks system is the first set of digital tools we've seen that gives us what we need. We're looking forward to having the AutoNetworks system in our shops as well as connecting the DuPont family of shops as a whole. This will make our job easier and the shops more productive." Jay Gospodnetich and Greg Smith founded City Paints in 1985. AutoNetworks offers broadband connectivity and electronic media services designed specifically for automotive collision repair facilities for a monthly subscription fee.
