Business Development Group Launches Shop Network

The Business Development Group, headed by Scott Biggs, has launched an Assured Performance Network for collision repair facilities. According to Biggs, the independent network, with no direct tie-ins to paint company offering or insurer programs, fills a need in the collision repair industry for customer-focused measures and tools.

For what Biggs says is a very reasonable cost of entry, participating shops will ponder an "assured performance DNA" question: What makes a top quality shop? He anticipates enrollment from best-in-class collision repair facilities nationwide. The network will use a star system to evaluate shops during inspections. Qualifying facilities will be approved and accredited by the network as "Best in Class Shops."

Biggs emphasizes that his network is not meant to work in competition with the various paint and jobber value added programs already in place. The focus of the network, he says, is "to do what isn't being done," with the customer, meaning the individual vehicle owner, the top priority.

The network offers, among other components:

  • standard criteria for evaluating a facility
  • onsite facility inspections
  • star-system evaluation
  • consumer marketing tools
  • software
  • a customer care program
  • a 24x7 call center
  • business development marketing and support.

Reportedly, several nationally well-known names in the industry have already signed on. Biggs estimates combined sales for network participants at over $240 million - not too shabby, considering that a formal press release announcement has yet to go out.
