Business Tools | Monday August 19 CARSTAR ChicagoLand Teams Up with State Farm Agents to Raise Funds for Camp Mak-A-DreamThe CARSTAR Chicagoland Business Group and a group of Chicago-area State Farm agents will host a fundraising softball game on Wednesday, Aug. 21 to benefit Camp Mak-A-Dream, a Montana-based summer camp for children and young adults with cancer. Funds raised during the event will be used to help build a new medical center at the camp. The softball fundraiser, part of the collision repair industry’s ongoing efforts to support Camp Mak-A-Dream, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Thillens Baseball Stadium in Chicago. CARSTAR and a group of State Farm agents will secure sponsors to support individual players or company teams. The event will include two games based on separate Chicagoland areas: CARSTAR East vs. State Farm East and CARSTAR West vs. State Farm West. "Caring for our community is vitally important to everyone at CARSTAR," said Teresa Kostick, CARSTAR Chicagoland Business Group Chairperson. "Besides local and regional efforts, we also strongly support programs on a national level. Camp Mak-A-Dream is a great resource for kids from all over the country, and we’re honored to volunteer our time to raise funds for the camp’s new medical facility." "State Farm agents are proud to get involved in the communities where we live," said Chicago agent Hemina Patel. "This is what ‘Like a Good Neighbor’ is all about." The softball fundraiser is the latest collision repair industry effort to benefit Camp Mak-A-Dream. Since last year, the National Auto Body Council (NABC), through its Collision Industry Foundation, has led industry-wide efforts to raise $1.3 million to help build a much-needed medical center at Camp Mak-A-Dream. "Volunteers from throughout the collision repair industry have stepped up to the plate to help Camp Mak-A-Dream and the kids who attend the summer camp," said Mark Claypool, NABC Executive Director. "We hope to help us raise at least $500,000 for Camp Mak-A-Dream, which will be matched by a challenge grant the camp received." The National Auto Body Council is a not-for-profit association whose sole purpose is to improve the image of the collision repair industry in the eyes of the general public and to recognize the pride and professionalism of its members. Members and sponsors are all employed in some aspect of the collision repair industry. ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED INSIGHT Supports the NABC! |
