Car-Part.com, CCC Information Services Inc. Form Strategic Relationship for Recycled-Parts
Car-Part.com and CCC Information Services Inc. have formed a strategic relationship that will make data on millions of recycled automobile parts instantly available to appraisers in collision repair facilities, insurance companies and independent appraisal firms as they write their repair estimates.Under the agreement, Car-Part.com - the company that helps auto recyclers sell parts on the Internet via searchable inventory - will provide recycled parts data to CCC, a leading supplier of information and technology solutions to the automotive claims and collision repair industries. CCC's Pathways® collision estimating product will deliver the data - including condition, location, availability, brand and price of the recycled product - to end users through its integrated Recycled Parts Services (RPS) feature.
With the valuable parts inventory information at their fingertips, collision repair facilities, insurance adjusters and independent appraisers can incorporate accurate repair parts information into their estimates faster and easier.
"Recycled parts information is of critical importance to our customers," said J. Laurence Costin, vice chairman of CCC Information Services Inc. "By working with Car-Part.com, CCC can offer the industry immediate electronic accessibility to a larger base of recycled parts information, thereby providing one more way to accelerate the process of getting repairable vehicles back on the road."
The affiliation with CCC will enable Car-Part.com to broaden the visibility of the millions of parts maintained by its 1,300 auto recycler subscribers to the automotive claims market.

Car-Part.com was the first company to offer auto recycler inventory services on the Web.
