Fellowship of Concerned Repairers of Oklahoma Becomes Newest SCRS Affiliate

The Oklahoma association, which is two years old, includes collision repair-related businesses such as jobbers and manufacturer's representatives, in addition to body shop professionals. As a group, the Fellowship has a reputation for tackling regional industry issues and pursuing cooperative ventures. SCRS proved a good fit for them.

"SCRS was moving in the same direction as our group," explains Bryan Key, who owns J&K Body Shop in Oklahoma City and serves as the Fellowship Vice-President. "Our members are interested in industry education, building relationships with other professionals and learning how to work effectively with the insurance industry. SCRS is an active group that will help our members get what they need."

The recent accomplishments of the Fellowship of Concerned Repairers of Oklahoma are impressive. The group spearheaded a successful effort to gain a ruling at the state level against arbitrary paint caps. They have also sponsored a number of useful educational programs for members, including the Master's "Nuts and Bolts of Estimating" class.

In addition, they endeavor to get members exposure to informative speakers. Recent presentations have included a question and answer session with the state insurance commissioner and a meeting with a representative from the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division who spoke on proper compensation for employees.

"Throughout the state of Oklahoma they are known as the movers and shakers," states SCRS Executive Director Dan Risley. "The reputation is well-deserved."

"This is a relationship-building business," adds Key. "We want to do what we can to create better working relationships between our members and the people they do daily business with."

SCRS congratulates the Fellowship of Concerned Repairers of Oklahoma on their affiliation, and looks forward to a long and fruitful association with them. "We are pleased to add such an effective local association to our ranks," states SCRS Chairman Joel Lofton. "We think that SCRS and the Fellowship's members will benefit from our new relationship."

Through its direct members and 32 affiliate associations, SCRS is comprised of 8,300 collision repair businesses and 58,500 specialized professionals who work with consumers and insurance companies to repair collision-damaged vehicles.
