ComCept's New Distribution Management Software Ready for Jobbers

Moore’s Auto Paints in north and central Alabama has recently adopted ComCept’s new distribution management software ComCept.NET. The 2-location jobber has been in business since 1957 and a ComCept customer for more than a decade.

"Our first system with ComCept in 1991 took us from writing hand tickets to automation with computers," said David Moore, owner and manager of Moore’s Albertville location. "ComCept has done a good job of keeping us current with technology that jobbers can use in their day-to-day business. With their new software, we feel like they have done it again."

"Right now, ComCept has configured our system so that both stores are operating ‘live’ on the same database and stores have Instant Messaging capabilities," said Shane Moore, owner and manager of Moore’s Huntsville location. "This is a big difference from the previous system where files were batched and sent back and forth for updating. With ComCept.NET, other than reconciling the cash drawer, there are no end-of-day close-out procedures - it’s much simpler."

With each new implementation of ComCept.NET, there is an opportunity take a hard look at a customer’s data and "cleanse" it by purging old data and improving the meaningfulness of current data.

Shane commented, "We even took the opportunity to improve vendor records and change item codes, all in an easy-to-use Excel spreadsheet that ComCept imported back in to our SQL database. One of the exciting features of ComCept.NET is that it maintains a unique identifying code for each of our part numbers. This means that we can change actual part numbers and the system will report sales and usage on both the new and old number."
