Business Tools | Friday September 20 Mike Jackson Named Chairman-Elect Of AutoNationAutoNation Inc. Chairman H. Wayne Huizenga plans to retire Dec. 31.In a press release Thursday, the retailer of new and used vehicles said it named Chief Executive Mike Jackson, 53 years old, to the additional post of chairman. Huizenga, 64, said he was scaling back his involvement at the company to focus on new entrepreneurial opportunities. He will continue as a company director. Last week, Huizenga said he would retire as chairman of Republic Services Inc. on Dec. 31.
