Esurance Joins Ford Insurance Platform

Esurance Inc., an online insurance provider, has teamed with the Ford Motor Company Vehicle Insurance Program to provide personal auto insurance to Ford and Lincoln-Mercury customers.

The Ford Motor Company Vehicle Insurance program is a service that can save consumers valuable time and could produce significant savings by providing multiple insurance quotes from a number of carefully selected insurance companies. Based on answers to a brief series of questions, the program offers Ford customers quotes from multiple insurance carriers, providing the multi-channel insurance solution today's insurance marketplace demands.

Ford will use direct mail and other integrated marketing efforts to encourage its customers to contact the program's call center or Web site for program participation. Ford customers will now have the opportunity to purchase a policy immediately and instantly access their proof of insurance cards.

Once Ford customers become Esurance policyholders, Esurance's paperless platform offers Ford customers the convenience of electronic document storage, along with the ease of online policy changes and claims filing, as well as toll-free 24/7 customer service.

"Esurance has built an online platform that leverages technology to improve the efficiency of the insurance buying and underwriting processes. Because we have been able to reduce traditional operating costs, we can pass this savings on to our customers, explains Gary Tolman, President and CEO of Esurance. "Further, Esurance's streamlining of traditional insurance processes means that our customers also save time when they buy insurance from us. Our product is a perfect fit for anyone's customer base, particularly one as broad and diverse as Ford's."
