J.N. Phillips Auto Glass Extends Highway Safety Program

J.N. Phillips Auto Glass, New England's largest auto glass replacement company, has expanded its pledge to highway safety. The company will continue to donate a portion of each glass replacement to Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety through the end of 2002.

"We recognize our customers are concerned about auto safety and so are we," said company President Bob Rosenfield. "Supporting Advocates gives us a chance to let them know safety is central to our philosophy. Whether its taking the time to install a windshield correctly or helping Advocates get tougher drunk driving laws enacted-safety is a guiding principle."

Advocates is a Washington, D.C.-based safety advocacy organization whose mission is to save lives by making America's highways safer. The group says New England's concern regarding auto safety mirrors the rest of the country's feelings. According to a recent Harris Poll conducted on behalf of Advocates, public opinion strongly favors safer highways and automobiles right now. The American public wants to know that its safety is a top priority.

Unfortunately, highway fatality figures have not improved significantly in the last decade; in fact, there was an increase in highway fatalities in 2001 according to recently released government figures. This is where companies like J.N. Phillips Auto Glass become vital.

"That car crash deaths actually rose in 2001 is unacceptable," said Advocates President Judith Stone. "Every year so many needless crashes steal our young and disrupt families," she said. "The policies we work for have no doubt prevented many tragedies, but we still have a long, long way to go."

"Advocates creates policy that saves lives, and we're proud to give our customers the chance to make a difference," said J. N. Phillips Auto Glass President Bob Rosenfield.

J.N. Phillips Auto Glass operates 40 stores and 110 mobile service vans in a four-state service area. The company is an active leader in safe installation practices.

Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety is an alliance of consumer, health and safety groups and insurance companies and agents working to make America's roads safer.
