Business Tools | Monday October 14 SCRS K.C./Topeka Chapter Raises $16,000 for Camp Mak-A-DreamThe Kansas City/Topeka Chapter of the Society of Collision Repair Society (SCRS) has raised over $16,000 for Camp Mak-A-Dream at the September golf outing. This brings their overall total, including their golf outing of October 2001, to an astounding $26,500.Dan Bailey the Chapter President said, "Our members have a history of rising to the challenge when the industry needs them. This is just one more example of their commitment to their local and national communities in which they do business, as well as SCRS." He further stated, "It also shows how such a diverse industry can unify toward a common goal. We had insurance people, technicians, suppliers, tow companies, attorneys, independent appraisers and consumers all participating at one level or another. All of them came together for the betterment of the kids that attend Camp Mak-A-Dream." Jimmy Sommerhauser, golf committee chairman and Margo Smith, SCRS State Director and NABC board member said, "Our golf committee spent many hours organizing this outing and there were some stressful days leading up to the event. But there isn't one person on the committee that wouldn't volunteer their time again. When you know that your efforts are helping children, all the aggravation and stress seems to dissipate. We look forward to seeing the medical facility completed and bearing the name of the collision repair industry, knowing we helped make it come true. Through its direct members and 34 affiliate associations, SCRS is comprised of 8,300 collision repair businesses and 58,500 specialized professionals who work with consumers and insurance companies to repair collision-damaged vehicles. ©2002 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
