Service King Raises $19,000 for The Family Place

Service King Collision Repair Centers raised $19,000 for The Family Place at its 8th annual Royal Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, October 11th at the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course in Texas.

The Family Place is an organization that provides assistance to victims of family violence in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

"With the help of our insurance industry partners, suppliers and friends, the annual golf tournament has given tens of thousands of dollars to charities over the past eight years," said Eddie Lennox, Service King CEO. "This year we were able to raise nearly three times as much as last year's charitable donation. We're thrilled that the money is going towards helping families who are really in need!"

In 2001, the Emergency Shelter Program at The Family Place provided food, short-term housing, counseling and supportive services to 1,197 women and children.

"This assistance was made possible only through the financial contributions of individuals and organizations, like Service King, that give back to their communities," said Lori Sirmen of The Family Place. "Every dollar raised for The Family Place is essential to keeping our doors open to the battered women and children in our community who desperately need our services, and I am truly grateful that Service King has chosen The Family Place as the beneficiary of the Royal Invitational Golf Tournament."

Owner Eddie Lennox founded Service King in December of 1976 with one location in Dallas. Service King operates 15 collision repair centers in Texas.
