"We are thrilled to be recognized as a top employer in Canada," says Tony Moise, corporate vice president, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Canada. "This is a strong reflection of the quality and enthusiasm of our employees, who are responsible for making Enterprise Rent-A-Car a great company to work for and a successful business in Canada."

More than 59,000 employees were surveyed by Hewitt Associates for the fourth annual ranking for Report on Business magazine. The survey is the only national study of organizations based primarily on the opinions of employees, with 70 per cent of the score based on an employee opinion survey.

With more than 220 locations and 1300 employees across Canada, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is a growing company, servicing hundreds of communities nationwide. "We're proud that our strong neighbourhood presence means that people don't need to travel far to work for or do business with one of Canada's best employers," says Moise.

With an average investment of 100 hours of employee training per year, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is recognized by the study for is its strong emphasis on management career training, internal promotion and resulting local autonomy for staff and managers.

"Enterprise Rent-A-Car is all about creating opportunities for our staff to succeed in business," says Moise. "Enterprise is recognized as a leading management training organization, where hard work is rewarded and entry-level management careers are fast-tracked." The focus on internal promotion is a successful strategy for the company, with nearly 100 per cent of its senior management having started their career in the company's management trainee program.

"Employees are able to make important business decisions early in their career and we offer unlimited opportunities for career advancement based on individual performance and initiative," says Moise.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car also encourages employee involvement in community outreach activities. In 2002, the company raised more than $14 million for United Way Chapters across North America.
