Ford Service Web Site Launched for Ford-Lincoln-Mercury

Ford Motor Company has launched a new service website in January. The site provides access to factory-authorized, emissions and non-emissions diagnostic and repair information for some 1994-1995 vehicles and all 1996 and newer Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury cars and light trucks. The information on this website is the same provided to franchised dealers.

Current features on the Web sites include:

  • Diagnostic and Repair Procedures
  • Technical Service Bulletins (covering 1988 and newer vehicles)
  • Electrical Wiring Diagrams
  • Onboard Diagnostic System Descriptions

Training materials and Field Service Actions will be added soon. While most information is available to subscribers only, the website offers free access to some information, including

  • Onboard Diagnostic System Descriptions
  • Towing Procedures
  • Camper Loading Guides

The website can be accessed at www.motorcraft.com.

In addition to Ford, auto manufacturers currently offering service information via the Internet include BMW, General Motors Corp., Honda, Hyundai, Volkswagen/Audi and Volvo. More automakers will be launching service Web sites over the next few weeks.
