Roadsters Painted with DuPont Finishes Win Top Awards

Two roadsters painted with DuPont Automotive Finishes were awarded top prizes at two recent, prestigious California rod and custom car shows.

A 1932 Ford Roadster painted by Alloway’s Hot Rod, of Knoxville, Tenn., was named Most Beautiful Roadster at the Jan. 17-20 Grand National Roadster Show in San Mateo. Two weeks later, a ’33 Ford Roadster painted by Sam Foose of Solvang, Calif. and built by Leonard Lopez of Dominator Motorsports, Brentwood, Calif., won D’Elegance Award at the Oakland Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show.

The ’32 Ford is a solid red, finished in DuPont Finishes’ ChromaSystem. The roadster also took top prizes at Sacramento, Calif. and Portland, Ore. shows. The ’33 model, painted with a ChromaSystem® silver, was built for Jeremy McGrath, former motocross champion. It will also appear in the DuPont booth at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville this summer and at the SEMA show in November.

“Cars painted with our finishes have won many of the top awards in recent years, and we’re looking forward to Louisville,” said Janine Little, marketing services support for the DuPont custom finishes segment. “In the hands of skilled painters, our products are the equal of any paint on the market.”
