Electric Insurance Chooses SceneAccess for Digital Claim Management Solution

Electric Insurance Company has chosen SceneAccess, an online application designed specifically for the property and casualty insurance industry, as its end-to-end claim assignment management, communication and reporting system between the insurance company and its independent appraisers.

Electric Insurance has made the commitment to the complete digitization of its claim management functions, with the goal of completing the claim processing cycle faster and more efficiently than ever before.

"We're moving to an entirely paperless solution," said Matthew N. Smith of Electric Insurance’s appraisal management team. "Using SceneAccess, we can review estimates in real time and settle claims faster, so customers receive their checks more quickly."

Independent appraisers who work with Electric Insurance file their claim reports, estimates and photos using SceneAccess. At the SceneAccess Web site, appraisers can compile digital information—pictures and text—into one file, include all of their remarks about the customer site, emphasize important points, and attach estimates and other information. When the files are completed, appraisers upload them to a secure storage site at Scene Genesis, Inc., creators of SceneAccess. The information management system at Electric Insurance automatically downloads these files to the company's FileNet servers at regular intervals throughout the day, using FTP software and a secure connection.

"We chose SceneAccess because this is the premier product for our needs," Smith said. "We reviewed competitors' offerings, and found that SceneAccess is far and away the most established, and the best equipped to handle our volume. We're very excited about the possibilities SceneAccess brings us—we are that much closer to reaching our goals and providing our customers with the finest customer service in the industry."

"In deploying SceneAccess with Electric Insurance, we understood the specialized needs this insurance company had for the digital collection, distribution and sharing of information," said John W. Blake, Jr., president of Scene Genesis. "The flexibility of our application allowed us to adapt to our customer's need for real-time information storage and retrieval. In addition, Electric Insurance can use SceneAccess to monitor its independent appraisers, to be sure that their work meets the company's high standards for integrity and expeditious claim settlement. We are delighted to have the opportunity to help Electric Insurance meet its goals."
