Business Tools | Thursday May 1 ADESA Impact Opens Total Loss Recovery Auction in New JerseyADESA Corp., an ALLETE company, has announced that its total loss recovery vehicle business, ADESA Impact, has opened an auction in Manville, N.J. The new total loss recovery auction is the 28th facility in the Impact chain.Co-located with ADESA New Jersey, Impact New Jersey also represents the company’s seventh “shared” facility. Together, the two organizations provide state-of the art reconditioning facilities, indoor auction lanes and a more diversified buying audience than traditional salvage-only auctions. When combined with ADESA Impact’s available buyer financing, Internet-based auction and management services, these features will deliver a level of service and financial returns previously unavailable to insurers in New Jersey, according to Warren Byrd, president of ADESA Impact. “We are thrilled at the success of our shared auctions because they enable ADESA Impact to enter markets running at full speed and at a fraction of the typical cost of a new salvage auction facility,” Byrd said. “Our insurance customers also gain tremendous benefits because each location has quality vehicle inspection and appraisal areas, indoor storage, reconditioning and auction capabilities rarely available in the salvage auction business.” ADESA Impact U.S. and Canada processed over 200,000 vehicles in 2002 and is a part of ALLETE Automotive Services, which includes ADESA Corp., a network of 53 wholesale auctions and six heavy-duty commercial vehicle auctions strategically located across the United States, Canada and Mexico; Automotive Finance Corp., the country’s largest independent dealer finance company; PAR North America, remarketing services; and ComSearch, a national claims audit and recycled parts locating company. In addition, ALLETE Automotive Services operates Micro 21 dealer software and AutoVIN inspection services. ©2003 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
