ASA Debuts Redesigned Members Only Area

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has launched a completely revamped Members Only area on its website (www.asashop.org). The Members Only area, initially launched in 1998, has undergone significant changes, further enhancing the association's Web communication efforts and placing much-needed information at members' fingertips.

Complementing the recently redesigned public site, the expanded Members Only area offers a modernized look and feel with a new navigation scheme. The overall goal of the redesign was to enhance the functionality of the site, while continuing to provide essential information to members.

After logging in to the revamped section, members are greeted with a dynamic new home page featuring the latest association and industry news, legislative initiatives, member polls and online store displays. Content on the home page is updated weekly.

Incorporating the latest Internet technology, ASA offers powerful and flexible browser-based e-mail access, allowing association members to access e-mail from anywhere at anytime through the Members Only area. This new benefit is free to ASA National members.

"Our new e-mail program mirrors the most sophisticated Web-based applications available on the Internet," said Ron Pyle, ASA's president and chief staff executive. "In addition, the e-mail address that is established associates our members with the world's most dedicated group of automotive service and repair professionals, which is incalculable in this industry," Pyle said.

Another major enhancement of ASA's Members Only area is a redesigned Online Store complete with a shopping cart mechanism, search engine and secure online credit card transaction capabilities. All products, which include promotional items, consumer brochures, and reference books and videos, are accompanied by a photo, description and a list of related products. The improvements to the store will expedite the checkout process and make for a more enjoyable shopping experience.

ASA has provided a gateway to services and information that directly pertain to ASA members through its redesigned Members Only area. Members can now renew their membership, enroll in the new NASCAR Performance Network, download ASA logos, read current and past board of directors minutes, and place a free employment classified ad, all though one central channel.

The redesign features significant improvements in ASA's Information Center, a searchable database with more than 8,000 automotive industry abstracts; monitoring of state legislation; and information availability issues, including the latest OEM Service Matrix and links to all the vehicle manufacturers service information Web sites.

"We are very excited about the implementation of the new Members Only area. I believe the Internet is a superior venue to provide our members with the tools and services they need to improve and efficiently operate their businesses," Pyle said. "This redesign initiative is a significant step in our ongoing Internet communication strategy."
