Business Tools | Thursday June 5 Eastman’s Accurate Dispersions Division Receives ISO 9001:2000 CertificationEastman Chemical Company's Accurate Dispersions division has received International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification by Quality Management Institute (QMI), an independent, third-party registrar.“Accurate Dispersions has always offered our customers unparalleled quality, product purity and consistency, and prompt, responsive customer service,” says James Valukas, General Manager and founder of Accurate Dispersions. “Having ISO 9001:2000 certification of our quality systems reaffirms our continued commitment to formulating and producing the highest quality custom colorants and dispersions for the industrial and architectural marketplaces.” The quality standards set out in ISO 9001 establish consistency in processes and operations to help ensure reliable, quality products, services, customer satisfaction, and reduced waste. During the year-long certification process, quality systems were examined throughout Accurate’s operations – from human resources and employee training, to product research, design, and manufacturing, to purchasing and customer service delivery. Eastman has made a company-wide commitment to quality. By the end of 2003, Eastman expects 24 of its operating units to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification. Until now, only about 7,500 companies in North America have received this certification, compared to the over 55,000 companies in North America that are certified under the earlier ISO 9000 standards of 1994.
