PPG Helps Develop New Ford Technology Center
PPG Industries, along with other major PBE manufacturers, recently helped sponsor the development of a new Paint and Body Technology Center for Ford Motor Company’s Customer Service Division (FCSD).According to FCSD, the objective behind the facility’s development was to consolidate resources under one roof, thereby creating the capability to properly define customer paint and body concerns and develop service repair processes in a more timely, cost-effective manner.
As one of the project’s key sponsors, PPG contributed its expertise in automotive OEM and refinish coatings processes during the development stage, and continues to offer suggestions and advice.
“PPG welcomed the opportunity to contribute to the success of this endeavor since it is sure to foster improved repair processes for Ford technicians using our refinish products,” said Jim Latch, general manager for PPG Automotive Refinish.
As a sponsor of the Ford Paint and Body Technology Center PPG will also make use of the facility for testing purposes as well as to conduct meetings and training for distributors and technicians.
The new center is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
