DaimlerChrysler Approves DuPont for Warranty and Collision Repair
DuPont, the original paint supplier to Freightliner, was recently named by DaimlerChrysler as an approved global supplier for Freightliner, Western Star and Sterling dealer warranty and collision repair.For the past 15 years, DuPont has supplied 100 percent of the topcoat to all the Freightliner manufacturing plants.
In securing the Freightliner approval for aftermarket repairs, DuPont successfully met the demanding requirements of DaimlerChrysler pertaining to training, services, R&D and product systems. The approval means that the same Imron High Solids polyurethane enamel that has passed Freightliner’s rigorous testing for OEM approval, including chip resistance, corrosion, adhesion, UV degradation and color match, is available to dealers and the aftermarket.
“DuPont has an excellent reputation for quality and color match,” said Carlo Nardini, Director of Technical Support for Freightliner LLC. “DuPont's ability to provide the same OEM paint to the aftermarket allows our dealers to ‘repair in kind’ and achieve excellent color match.”
